Meet Shammrie and Imani Brown

We are Shammrie and Imani Brown, a husband and wife united by our love for Christ and our shared mission to serve His purpose in every aspect of our lives. Our story began in 2008 when we became friends in college, and in 2013, we were blessed to marry. Our individual journeys to accepting Jesus as our Savior are different, but He has united our hearts in a common pursuit—to live out His divine purpose and share His love with others.

In 2016, Shammrie answered God’s call to ministry, becoming a minister of the Gospel. He has since poured his heart into serving the local church, where he has led the Outreach ministry, baptized new believers, and mentored ministry leaders. In 2024, he was honored to be ordained as a Pastor (Elder) and serve on the board of new churches, further deepening his commitment to serving God’s people. With a Master of Arts in Urban Leadership from Northern Seminary, Shammrie is a passionate nonprofit leader, podcast host, and writer, all while being faithfully committed to his wife and children. His heart beats for making a lasting impact, sharing Christ’s message of hope, healing, and transformation wherever God leads him.

Imani’s heart for service and her gift of hospitality have always been at the core of her calling. She poured into the lives of many while managing a local ministry food pantry, providing nourishment for those in need, before stepping back into the marketplace in 2017. Today, Imani continues to serve with joy and love, bringing people together over food, coffee, and meaningful connections. In her free time, she cherishes creating beautiful memories with family and traveling, always seeking to grow in faith and experience the wonders of God’s creation.

Together, we are blessed to serve as writers of Biblical devotion content for the YouVersion Bible App, sharing our faith and encouraging others in their spiritual journeys. We also own Good Servants Enterprises LLC, a Christian company dedicated to providing products and services that uplift individuals, organizations, and ministries. Our mission is to serve God faithfully in everything we do, with a heart for His people and a passion to make a difference. Based in Chicago, we are driven by a shared love for Jesus and a commitment to live out His purpose every day.
